The Philippine Consulate launched recently its passport appointment system, the link to which went live on 02 April 2018. On 21 March, the Consulate started accepting passport applications of those who secured appointments online. Among the first ones to avail of the system was 15-year old Filipino-American Matt Christer Tadena who was accompanied by his mother, Ana.

The mother and son expressed satisfaction over their experience applying for passports using the online system, saying it was a convenient and efficient way of accessing consular services. Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. gave Mr. Tadena a Spark*Connect*Empower (SCE) t-shirt as a souvenir prize. The Consul General expressed gratitude to the Tadena family and also said that it is very apt that the first applicant of the appointment system is a young Filipino American, which Post’s SCE initiative targets, in its objective of promoting pride and honor in being a Filipino.

Applicants may still come to the Consulate during office hours between 9 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. as walk-in applicants but have an option to secure an online appointment on a specific date and hour to suit their own schedules at END
