20/11/2017: JHETT TOLENTINO SHOWS DOCUMENTARY “LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT” AT THE PHILIPPINE FOLKLIFE MUSEUM

Jhett Tolentino, in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, held a public screening of his documentary “Life Is What You Make It” at the Philippine Folklife Museum on Monday, 13 November 2017.

Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. conveyed to Mr. Tolentino his congratulations for “carrying with him the desire to not just lift the profile of the Filipino American Community in the United States, and [for trying] to use his influence to help out our kababayans back home.”  Himself a recipient of an education scholarship, Mr. Tolentino realizes the importance of giving opportunities to children who desire to finish their schooling.

In support of the Consulate’s movement to Spark*Connect*Empower* the Filipino-American Community, Post invited FilCom leaders to view the documentary to drum up support for Mr. Tolentino, who aims to put up a foundation that would provide education scholarships for indigent children, initially in the Philippines, and eventually in other countries.

Mr. Tolentino has been showing his documentary in many cities in the United States, and other countries.  The documentary was previously shown in Cinematografo International Film Festival, which was held at the AMC Sundance Kabuki Theater in Japantown, San Francisco, on 09 to 12 November 2017. END
