18/05/2017: SAN FRANCISCO PCG COLLABORATES WITH THE ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT (ALLICE) KUMARES AND KUMPARES TO HOLD A COMMUNITY PRESENTATION-RESOURCE FAIR TO PROMOTE ELDER CARE AND ELDER ABUSE PREVENTION

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco participated in the 11th Annual Our Family, Our Future, a community-presentation-resource fair to promote elder care and elder abuse prevention organized by the Alliance for Community Empowerment (ALLICE) Kumares and Kumpares on 13 May 2017. Picture shows Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. giving a Keynote Address. In his remarks, Consul General Bensurto stated that care and respect for elders is a sacrosanct value of the Filipinos. He emphasized the significant role of the elders in the modern society by noting that elders are keepers of the collective memory of a society, further stating that a “modern society without memory” is bound to fail.

He commended the ALLICE kumares and kumpares for their tireless efforts in promoting the rights of the elders.
