Contestants are invited to participate in the Semi-Finals of 3rd Kulinarya Cooking Competition to be held on August 12, 2012 from 11am to 2pm at the City View Room of the Metreon Center in San Francisco. The competition is open to chefs, cooks, foodies and food enthusiasts, and is held in two divisions, Amateur and Professional categories.

Contestants will be required to bring one cooked Filipino dish during the Semi-Finals. Three (3) finalists in each division will be chosen during the Semi-Finals and will compete in the Final Round scheduled sometime in December 2012.  The grand winners will receive a round trip ticket to the Philippines, hotel stay and a tour of the Philippine Kulinarya destinations to be arranged by Philippine Department of Tourism.  The champions will also have the chance to showcase their skills and talents at the EAT! Vancouver to be held in Vancouver, Canada in May 2013.  DOT San Francisco regularly participates in this largest food and cooking festival in Canada.

The Kulinarya Culinary Showdown is organized by the Philippine Consulate General including its attached agencies, Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Center Management Board, and in partnership with the Filipino American Arts Exposition.  It is part of the annual Pistahan Parade and Festival held on August 11-12, 2012 at the Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco.
