07/10/2011: FORMER PRESIDENT RAMOS VISITS SAN FRANCISCO AND THE BAY AREA
Former President Fidel V. Ramos visited San Francisco and the Bay Area from 29 to 3 October 2011 to grace the opening of the first-ever Filipino American International Book Festival (FilBookFest) and to launch his latest biography written by American W. Scott Thompson “ Trustee of the Nation ".
At the Welcome Recepton given by the Philippine Consulate General for all the participants, co-presentors, sponsors, and partners, as Guest of Honor. The former President led the list of invited luminaries who will be participating at the FilBookFest. The Welcome Reception also occasioned his book launching during which he signed copies of his book. He also presented to San Francisco chief Librarian Luis Herrera copies of his own authored books.

On October 1 he formally opened FilBookFest at the Fulton Street Festival grounds and stayed nearly the whole day to sign books and help promote the festival.


On the same day he proceeded to Vallejo, and had a town hall meeting with the Filipino American community organized by local Vallejo community leaders and officials at the Seafood City Mall.
On October 2, he visited Sacramento where he likewise had a Town Hall Meeting with the Filipino American community that also included Veterans.



In both Vallejo and Sacramento, the former President took the occasion to launch and sign copies of his book END
